Rainbow Beach, 1 hour after leaving the airport, James hooks the first fish of the week, first cast...

...and lands it 6 minutes later - a sparkling 2½lb bonefish

Sunday morning, Pelican Cay - Brian soon learns how to "see" the grey ghosts and hooks one from a small pod

...Brian's 1st ever bonefish - his expression says it all!

Tim soon hooks one after we move away from Alan & Brian...

...and 5 minutes later - happiness is bone-shaped! Now all we need is for Alan and Dick to get "boned-up"

Sunday afternoon at Hatchet Bay and after losing a couple, Dick's remembers to "strip-strike" into one...

Success - his first ever bone on fly. Now we only need Alan to catch.

Wednesday, the conditions looked right for Harbour Island - BfG hooks a bone where the ghostly shadows can be seen as they pass over a sandy patch...

15 minutes later BfG lands the first of 5 bones hooked from that one hot-spot - the 1st was the largest at 6½lb+

Alan (now known as "Bone Dry") is invited to the "hot spot" where he immediately hooks a bone - will it stay on?

At last Alan caught his first bonefish, a respectable 3½lb, and went on to catch 3 more over the next 2 days.

Harbour Island as seen from the stern of a water taxi.

BfG hooked this angry looking 24" Barracuda in the scissors on a #4 Gotcha!

Our last evening at Rainbow Inn

Our twice-weekly entertainer, Dr Seabreeze, bids us fairwell

Back in the villa, an unusual picture of BfG resting his eyes - thanks Peter!

For those who are interested in statistics:

During the week we all caught bonefish, 24 in total averaging nearly 3lb: Tim caught 2, Alan 4 to 4lb, Brian 3 to 4lb, Dick 6 to 4¾lb, Peter 1, James 2 and BfG 6 to 6½lb.

The mainly easterly winds made the fishing particularly difficult. You all deserved more fish in relation to your ability and the effort you put in. It was a real pleasure to be with you - thanks for being good sports! - BfG.
