Advice, Valuations, Selling:

If you are considering selling your tackle or would like an instant valuation or advice, please phone 0871 288 REEL (0871 288 7335). Calls cost 10p per minute from BT landlines and probably much more from mobiles. Either way, in exchange for my time and advice, I earn the princely sum of 4p per minute (£2.40 per hour!) which goes towards the cost of an occasional pint of Guinness.

To save time (and your telephone bill), please have the item/s and a tape measure handy so that you can answer my questions accurately. I may then be able to suggest an approximate value, but I will need to examine the item/s before I can make a firm offer, in which case I may ask you to send the item/s to me.

If, on inspection, I make you an acceptable offer, I will pay you immediately. If we fail to agree a price, you will be responsible for return postage (and insurance if required).

Please note that well-used or even damaged items may be of interest but I rarely buy tackle that has been "mucked about with" or modified, so please try to describe your item/s accurately and do not attempt to clean, polish, paint, varnish or repair them! An honest "patina" is always preferable to a cleaned or polished finish and slightly damaged items are preferable to badly repaired or re-painted ones.

Prices & Availability:

Prices of items for sale are in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are subject to change (up or down) without notice. However, these web pages are regularly updated so most items (unless marked "sold" or "reserved") are currently available at the advertised prices. Overseas customers can check current exchange rates here.

Weights & Measures:

Weights, measures & descriptions quoted for items for sale are approximate and are intended for guidance only. If you spot a mistake, please let me know so that I can correct it.

ON-LINE Ordering:

My secure on-line payment server is who accept most cards including Amex.

If ordering on-line for delivery within the UK simply click the    button and follow instructions*. UK delivery charges will be added automatically, and if I can combine items to save delivery costs I will refund any overpayment.

Alternatively, please request a PayPal Invoice - ideal if ordering several items, or if delivery is to addresses outside the UK.

Either way, the transaction will be processed by PayPal and it is not necessary to open a PayPal account.

PayPal will only inform me of the item/s ordered, your name, address, e-mail address and phone number so that I can contact you regarding your order. Under no circumstances will your credit card or bank details be passed on to me by PayPal.

*If the item ordered is no longer available (eg. if someone else has purchased the item a short while before you) your payment will be refunded, usually the same day.

Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Solo, Delta, Electron, JCB & Style... ideal if considering ordering several items, want to discuss your order, or simply don't trust the Internet!

Cash: payments in GB Pounds or US Dollars are welcome but please note that cash sent by post is at your risk and should be insured (Special Delivery is ideal for sending cash within the UK).

Cheques, Bank Drafts, Postal Orders & BACS transfers are welcome but must be in Pounds Sterling and if paying by cheque, you should allow an extra 4 working days for clearance.

CHAPS and Wire Transfer payments are accepted for large orders, details on request.

Depending on order value, one of the following charges will normally apply...
£2.50 (1st Class Letter Post) for most small items priced under £10.00
£3.50 (Recorded Delivery) for most reels & small items priced £10.00 to £39.00
£6.00 (Special Delivery) for most reels & small items priced £39.01 to £500.00 
£7.00 - £10.00 (Special Delivery) for most reels priced over £500.00 
£8.00 - £10.00 (FedEx or Royal Mail Parcels) for rods and heavy or bulky items*

I am happy to discuss delivery arrangements to suit your particular needs.

If ordering more than one item I will combine them if possible to save delivery costs and refund any over-payment.

Reels and other small items are normally despatched the same day or next working day, insured, by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery, or Special Delivery for delivery the following working day.

Delivery of rods and other packages too large for Special Delivery may take 2-3 working days*.

Orders paid for by cheque may not be sent until clearance has been confirmed.

* Exceptions:- 
Orders for heavy, long or bulky items to destinations in the Highlands, Islands & Northern Ireland, may be delayed and/or attract extra delivery charges.

Shipping charges for orders to overseas addresses will be based on actual cost and should be quoted for and agreed by both parties before the order is processed.

The Good News...
Most reels & small items can be sent as a "Small Packet" by Royal Mail's registered priority handling services International Signed For™ or Airsure® at a cost of between £6.00 and £16.00 (including packing and insurance) depending on weight and destination country.

The Bad News...
Most rods and bulky items will now cost £20.00 to £50.00 to deliver outside mainland UK.
The problem is that our beloved Royal Mail will no longer accept tubes longer than 90cm (36"), or packages with a width + height + depth of over 90cm, as a "Small Packet" for their registered priority Airmail services (see above), and I am not prepared to send goods by economy services without insurance or proof of delivery (unless you are happy to take the risk!)

Options...
Parcelforce Worldwide has a length limit of 1.5m (59") to most countries (which rules out all two piece rods over 9½'). Click Parcelforce Worldwide Directory for size restrictions and delivery times or Parcelforce Worldwide Prices to calculate prices for sending to your country, remembering that volume as well as weight will be taken into account. 
As a rough guide, current prices for sending a rod in a tube 120cm long x 7cm diameter with a total weight of 1kg by Parcelforce "Global Value" with just £150 insurance start at around £13.50 to Ireland, £25.00 to France, £32.00 to Canada, or £40.50 to the Far East & Australia, plus £3.50 for a plastic rod tube. Insuring up to £450.00 will add another £13.50 to those prices. Faster, trackable services will cost considerably more. 

If the package is too big for Parcelforce, we can quote for delivery by an international freight forwarding company who operate a fast reliable courier service with fewer size restrictions.

Customers outside the EU must be prepared to pay import duty on arrival!

7 days free approval:

If within seven days of receipt you are not entirely satisfied with any item purchased, you may return it for a full refund (excluding all carriage charges and any import duty or taxes incurred by either party) providing it is returned undamaged, and not altered in any way.
