3¼" diameter with trigger-operated clockwork retrieve which is wound up automatically when line is pulled from reel (can also be wound up manually to increase power). 4" diameter traditional alluminium salmon reel of superior quality throughout (probably made for Walker Bampton by Dingley, circa 1930) with strong fixed click check, ebonite handle knob with brass fittings, nickel silver line roller, aluminium foot (mounted with 4 steel screws) lightly filed at one end but full length (see photos) otherwise excellent condition, primarily for right hand wind but could easily be tweaked for left hand use...
