DICK WALKER style CARP LANDING NET (English made, circa 1990s)

A superb quality carp net built to Richard Walker's original 1950s design using top quality materials. B James of Ealing were the first to commercially produce these nets but only made about 3 dozen.
Several commercial and amateur copies have been made over the years but this is the best contemporary version I have seen. 
Thought to be a 'one-off' built in the 1990s, the handle and frame are constructed from traditional materials without compromise to quality or practicality, and embodies all the best features of vintage and modern, making it an attractive alternative to the mass produced imports from the Far East.
The well matched pair of 36" tapered laminated split cane arms are mounted in brass straps and bound with heavy gauge scarlet nylon rod whipping thread.
The heavy duty braided nylon retaining cord is secured via split rings to brass loops which are whipped to the tips of the arms.
The arms are attached to a precision-engineered white metal T-piece with matching machine screws and washers.
The attractive yet practical varnished hardwood spreader block is attached to the handle with a long 3/8 BSF machine screw with large knurled & slotted head for easy tightening.
The deep fish-friendly green nylon knotless mesh is roomy enough to land a British record carp.
The 60" whole cane handle is reinforced with matching whippings covering the nodes of the bamboo and is fitted with a 3½" long machined and threaded solid brass socket which, unlike other specimen landing nets, locates neatly inside the spreader socket for maximum strength & rigidity.
