Mitchell 300 (Made in France circa 1954)

Very early classic French made Mitchell. The early specification included a spring loaded folding handle with contoured knob, one-piece full bail arm with hardened line guide and optional anti-reverse operated with its "boomerang" shaped on/off switch. Serial No 374026 stamped on side of body and Mitchell engraved on cover plate but without the "300" model number*. Complete with original metal deep & shallow spools with correct spool tub. Some external wear but good working order, serviced and ready to use.
*I believe the model number did not appear on pre-1955 Mitchells because the same cover plates were used on the less popular right hand wind model, thereby saving on manufacturing costs, which also answers the question as to why the early right-hand-wind reels that were not marked "301" and had the Mitchell name up-side-down!
