ARMSTRONG & Co Ltd  (Newcastle on Tyne) 2³/4'' Birmingham plate-wind "winch" (made in England, circa 1910)

Antique Armstrong & Co bronzed brass Birmingham plate-wind trout fly reel.with maker's oval logo stamped on winding plate. Constant click-check (ambidextrous). Lovely tapered horn handle. Weight 7⁷/8 oz. Good condition retaining much of its original bronze finish...

CARTER & Co Ltd (London) 2¹/2'' Birmingham plate-wind "winch" (made in England, circa 1910)

Antique Carter bronzed brass Birmingham plate-wind trout fly reel with maker's oval logo stamped on winding plate. One-piece cast brass slotted foot, lovely tapered dark horn handle running in brass winding cup, and constant click-check (biased towards right-hand-wind). Weight 5⁵/8 oz. Very good condition retaining most of its original bronze finish....

Hardy Bros (Alnwick) Ltd. THE SUNBEAM  Duplicated MkII (made in England circa 1930's)

3¹/4'' Hardy Sunbeam Duplicated MkII aluminium alloy trout fly reel with brown ebonite handle running freely in nickel silver winding cup, nickel silver ''telephone'' drum latch, nice full length smooth brass foot & brass Bickerdyke lineguard. MkII check functions correctly. Well worn brass spindle but drum does not rub on backplate or lineguard and everything works as it should. Maker's initials T.A.G. (Thomas Armstrong) stamped inside. Right-hand-wind (but could be used LHW if lineguard ignored and check pawl flipped over). Collectable & highly useable...

Leeda LC100 (made in England circa 1990)

Leeda LC100 3¹/2" diameter high quality ambidextrous carbon composite fly reel (currently set up for right-hand-wind) with one-piece caged body, line clip on back plate, adjustable click-check with quick change ventilated spools loaded with DT9F, WF9S1 (slow sink) & WF9I (intermediate) all with braided backing. Currently set up for right-hand-wind. Very good condition...

Garcia MITCHELL 710 Automatic Fly Reel (made in France circa 1970)

3¹/4" top quality automatic (clockwork) trout fly reel with adjustable line-guide, quick release drum and silent action. A safety feature allows a running fish to take line even after the clockwork spring is at full tension. Capacity WF6F or up to ST9S fast sink shooting heads... I used mine with a #9 fast sink shooting head for seatrout fishing... as soon as a fish is hooked I simply pull the trigger and all the slack line would be safely back on the reel - excellent, particularly when fishing at night! Weight: 9³/4 oz. Good condition with what appears to be a DT6 sinking line. Complete with 2 spare spools.

NB. To avoid tangles, only engage the line retrieve lever when the line is under tension.

I used to use mine with a #9 fast sink shooting head for sea trout fishing at night... as soon as a fish was hooked I'd simply pull the trigger and all the slack line would be safely back on the reel - excellent, particularly when fishing in the dark! Weight: 9³/4 oz. Slight paint loss, otherwise excellent condition and loaded with a DT6 sinking line & backing. Complete with 2 spare spools in original screw top transparent tubs.

K P Morritt's INTREPID RIMFLY (made in England circa 1960's)

Early boxed Intrepid RIMFLY 3¹/2" diameter fly reel with one-piece caged body, quick release ventilated spool, ambidextrous design (currently set up for right-hand-wind). Very good working order and loaded with a Gladding AEROFLOAT WF6F line.

Leeda RIMFLY (made in England circa 1990)

Made by Btitish Fly Reels and badged for Leeda Tackle this final version of the famous Intrepid Rimfly 3¹/2" diameter fly reel has a one-piece caged body, quick release ventilated spool, ambidextrous design (currently set up for right-hand-wind) with adjustable click-check. Very near mint condition and loaded with braided backing and WF6S sinking line.

Martin Fly Fishing (USA) 81E Automatic Fly Reel (made circa 2000)

3'' top quality automatic (clockwork) trout fly reel bearing the respected Martin name (the Martin Reel Co was established in 1884!) and now part of Zebco Tackle. Anodised aluminium & stainless steel construction with responsive ratchet & pawl brake, adjustable retrieve trigger, full "free stripping" (no need to release tension to continue stripping line). Similar line capacity to Mitchell 710, i.e. WF6F or up to ST9S fast sink shooting heads. Weight: 10³/4 oz. Near-mint condition complete with booklet and box...

Shakespeare GRAFLITE 2755 3¹/2" Fly Reel with 2 spare spools (circa 1990)

A good quality lightweight wide-drum ambidextrous fly reel wth quick-release ventilated spool. loaded with DT8S (fast sink line) & dacron backing. Complete with 2 spare spools: one loaded with an "Arrow Head" DT7F floating line and the other with just braided backing line only. Very good condition...

Shakespeare WORCESTERSHIRE FLY 2630 4¹/8" Salmon Reel (made by J W Young & Sons, Redditch, circa 1990)

Branded "Shakespeare" but designed and made by J W Young & Sons this topquality 4¹/8" ambidextrous aluminium alloy salmon fly reel has an easily adjustable rear drag and quick release drum latch.. Currently set up for right hand wind, the one-piece body has an adjustable click-check and a hard-chromed line-guard, both of which can be switched to left hand wind in seconds. Loaded with a top quality DT10F line with no signs of use. Zero mechanical wear and very near mint condition...

Unnamed Antique 2¹/2'' Plate Wind Winch (made by England, circa 1910)

Early unnamed ambidextrous wide drum (7/8") plate-wind "winch" with constant click-check, tapered xylonite handle knob, alloy body, brass drum, foot, pillars & winding plate. At just 5,3/8oz much lighter than the all-brass reels therefore better suited for use with lighter rods as well as traditional split cane. Good condition.

Early unnamed ambidextrous medium width plate-wind "winch" with tapered ebonite handle knob and constant click-check. Two of the steel pillars are missing (hense low price) but I guarantee the reel is totally stable. Ideal for trout fly fishing. Weight: 7¹/4 oz. Good working order...

Unnamed 3'' Crank Wind Fly Reel (sourse uknown)

Unnamed ambidextrous 3" crank-wind reel with optional click-check, bronzed brass side plates, chromed brass crank, foot & pillars with brass screws. Weighing in at 9oz it would nicely balance a 9 or 10ft cane fly rod. Excellent working order with zero mechanical wear and retaining most of it's original finish...
